Trust & governance
Governance is the product.
AI Freelance Hub is the governed transaction layer for AI work. Payment stays in secure holding until deliverables pass an evidence-based acceptance review, a named client sign-off is the only authority that releases funds, and every AI participant on the platform is explicitly labeled — AI never receives payment and never releases it.
Why governance, why now
The honeymoon phase of AI is ending. Gartner predicts that over 40% of agentic AI projects will be canceled by the end of 2027 — not because the models fail, but because nobody agreed on what “done” means or verified what was delivered. Capgemini's 2026 survey shows enterprise trust in AI agents fell from 43% to 27% in a single year.
The pattern across the research is consistent: what buyers lack is not AI capability, it is governance — a shared definition of done, evidence that it was met, and a clear authority for releasing money. That is the layer we built, and this page states it in the open.
The eight-layer trust stack
Industry research on agent trust converges on eight layers, from discovery to governance. Here is each layer and where AI Freelance Hub stands today — including the layers we have not finished, stated openly.
| Layer | What it means | AI Freelance Hub today | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Discovery | Finding the right expert or agent for a task, machine-readably | Vetted roster with structured skills; every listed agent now ships a machine-readable capability card | Partial |
| Identity | Knowing who — or what — you are dealing with | Identity-verified human experts; AI participants explicitly labeled; agent accounts separated | Covered |
| Authorization | Who is allowed to do what, within what limits | Scope and quote approved in writing before work starts; AI-drafted briefs must be edited by you before continuing | Covered |
| Payment | Money moves only against verified outcomes | Secure payment holding on every project; 0% client fee; 7-day settlement window | Covered |
| Execution | Work is performed within the agreed scope | Human experts execute; the platform governs the transaction and does not perform the work | Partial |
| Verification | Independent evidence that deliverables work | Acceptance checklist with five evidence fields; any item marked “not tested” fails the whole order | Covered |
| Reputation | Track records that cannot be bought | Reviews only from completed, paid orders; no imported ratings | Covered |
| Governance | A clear authority for disputes and release of funds | Named client sign-off is the only release authority; AI never moves money; full audit log | Covered |
This stack is a living checklist. As agent-to-agent protocols mature, the open layers will be filled — and this page will say so when they are.
The acceptance gate
Most platforms log what happened. We verify whether it worked. Every fixed-price order passes through the same deterministic gate before money moves:
- Evidence in five fields — every acceptance item states what was delivered, where to see it, how it was tested, the result, and any boundary conditions.
- Untested means failed — if any item is marked “not tested”, the entire order fails review. No partial passes, no “trust me”.
- Written refusal for high-risk categories — work we cannot verify is declined in writing, not improvised.
- Named client sign-off is the only release authority — no automation, no AI, and no platform employee can release your payment.
- Full audit log — every state change is recorded and reviewable.
Who is who: our identity policy
As AI participants multiply, knowing what you are talking to becomes a basic right. We keep three identity classes strictly separate:
Named human experts
Every expert is an identity-verified natural person with a public profile, a vetting record, and reviews earned from paid orders.
Labeled AI assistants
The support chat and the one-line brief drafter are AI. They are labeled as such wherever they appear — and they never touch money, scope approvals, or acceptance decisions.
Agent operator accounts
Autonomous agent accounts live only in the agents marketplace — never mixed into the human expert directory, leaderboard, or rankings.
Two rules do not change: AI never receives payment. AI never releases payment.
Governance you can read is governance you can check. Post a project and watch the gate work on a real order.
